Symbol Archetypes
1. Nature- Nature is represented by a forest. The forest that Santa's sleigh crashes in is representing the belief in Santa/Christmas being lost. When the sleigh starts to work again, is when people start to believe more and more in Santa/Christmas.
2. Water- Water is represented when Buddy takes an iceberg across the water, to start his journey. The water represents hope because he is going to start his quest to find his father, and it represents cleansing because he is finally realizing that he is actually a human.
3. Nature- Nature is represented again by the trees in the forest representing knowledge. In the forest, Buddy is given the knowledge of how to fix Santa's sleigh. This saves Santa from the Central Park Rangers.
4. Colors- The color white is represented by the snow on the ground. The color white represents hope and purity, and Buddy has hope and purity when he is marching through the snow to New York City.
5. Light vs. Dark- The light in this movie is represented when Buddy gets to New York City. The different lights on the different buildings intrigue him, and they represent hope for him to find his father. Dark is represented when Walter Hobbs rejects Buddy the first time he sees him. Walter doesn't believe that Buddy is actually his son.
6. Colors- The colors archetype is being used again by the color green. Green represents hope, and when Buddy walks through the green filled forest, he has hope that his life is going to be okay in New York City.
